No matter what age, profession, or level of maturity you have achieved in life, you still have a Destiny ahead of you. Destiny incorporates the Big Picture of who you ARE as well as acts that you are called to accomplish along the way.
Because of our humanity and tendency toward distraction and shortsightedness, we frequently need revelation from the Divine One’s perspective. Often we may know the desired direction--minus details--and we are given dreams to confirm whether or not we are on the right track. Other times, stunning dreams awaken us to new possibilities for us to follow. Calling dreams disclose additional stanzas of our Lifesong melodies. They remind us of our gifts and abilities, of our hopes, how to live, what we are designed to complete. Vocations unfold, the next project is unveiled, we receive a greater glimpse of the grander scale, with encouragement given to take the next step.
Seems like calling dreams are on the rise these days. A few recent ones that I have worked with include:
o A young man swimming among dangerous waters, recognizes ancient gold coins at the bottom, then bravely dives deep to retrieve the lost treasures
o Dreamer packed and ready to take off at the airport is double checking to make sure she is at the right ticket gateway
o Dreamer considering entrepreneurship observes gold lettering being painted over the new office doors and is given a new gold key
o Feeding people specialty seafood, running low on resources, but somehow continually having enough to keep serving more and more
o A publishing agent hands the dreamer a proposal agreement and dispenses a list of subjects to write about
o A dreamer, terrified of public speaking, gets up in front of a crowd and teaches quite eloquently—with authority and no fear
Difficulties of life can threaten to squash our hopes. We are pieces of a larger mosaic, most of us desiring to cooperate with the Creator to play our part into finished products. If we are not paying attention, we may miss heavenly dream cues sent to guide us. Proverbs 29:18 says, “If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.”
May we receive, understand, and live the fulfilled and blessed life that is our destiny!

In a recent dream I was given
In a recent dream I was given a b-day present. I was taken outside to see it. "Someone" had carved a huge gorgeous desk out of a mountain side. It was HUGE, looked like stone--same as the mountain, but it was polished dark wood. I looked like an infant next to it. I had to pull out drawers to use as steps to get to the top and then sat on it. People were taking pictures.
Then, the final scene in the dream, an angel handed me 4 hand-painted notecards filled with a message written in golden ink on deep blue painted backgrounds, red background, and I've forgotten what the other two were. I couldn't read it-needed better light and reading glasses. (Writing was tiny and didn't contrast much with the background). I tucked them away to save. Then I woke up.
I know I have a writing "mandate/calling". This was one of 'those' dreams that you want to stay in for a while longer. Gorgeous and peace-filled. :-) This is one of many that indicate my call to write. I believe the message/point of a calliing dream will be repeated. It won't be just one dream. Just my thoughts. :-)

how do we know?
I think my big question is...how do I distinguish when it is something like a "destiny/calling" dream? Is it just when things line up in the dream that we're already thinking of in real life? Are there "anti-destiny" dreams where you realize you're making a mistake?
How to know if your dream is a calling dream
Those are great questions! There are 'correction' or 'direction' dreams also--that alert us when we are making an unwise choice that could get us off-track. There are also 'counterfeit' dreams from the negative side that tell us lies regarding our destiny.
It all comes back to determining the source of dreams--is your dream from God? Evil? or Self? And then to determine which type of dream it is--the purpose. Spending time speaking with the dream-giver is a MUST--it also helps to work with other dream interpreters...we sharpen and support each other.
For calling dreams, if it regards something you think you can't do--perhaps something bigger than you have faith for right now, it is probably a calling dream. This would include confirmation of ideas you already suspect.
