Lion Dreams

Lion DreamsHave you ever experienced a face-to-face encounter with a lion in a dream? It seems like dreamers are reporting an increasing amount lion dream appearances. Lion dreams usually startle the dreamer with their strong, heart-pounding affects.

What do lions mean in dreams?

Remember that dreams are primarily symbolic, and that most symbols may possess both positive and negative possibilities. Discern whether the lion serves a positive or negative purpose in the dream. Is it menacing, destructive and threatening? Or is it comforting and strong?

For instance, in scriptures, a lion is often referred to as an evil, intimidating, fearful force that hunts and destroys humanity. Its roar, a powerful ‘voice’, which can be heard for miles, frightens and paralyzes its prey, so that it can be captured and slaughtered. I Peter 5:8 says, “Be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

Watch out, folks! If you experience an angry, starving lion, even in your dreams, it is time to take protective action against attack!

Hungry lion dens were often used as punishment—the ruthless, destructive anger and insatiable hunger was a most hopeless sentence for any helpless person.

Lion DreamsOn the flip side in the scriptures, a lion represents Jesus Christ, the conquering forceful lion of the tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5). One who is unchangeable, unshakeable, unstoppable!

Lions in our culture additionally may represent boldness, courage (think Wizard of Oz), highest level of leadership (King of the jungle, top of the food chain), a fiercely independent spirit with an intimidating, incapacitating influence. Consider all possibilities in dream interpretation.

Recently a friend told me his dream that everywhere he went, he was accompanied by a huge lion. The lion walked closely, right beside him, and seemed gentle, except when this friend tried to go somewhere on his own. Then the lion would pounce, pin the dreamer down, and redirect with his huge paws.

Based on context and the tone of this dream, and the fact that the dreamer was a follower of Jesus, we determined that this lion dream was encouraging the dreamer to embrace the protection and strength that came through his faith—when he journeyed on the ‘right’ path for his life. And the correction that would strike—if he got off track.

Noteworthy, in scripture, one lion eventually overcomes the other lion. If we are a child of God, we are encouraged to make a clear decision regarding which side to align with. Often it can be difficult to tell which side seems to be opposing your efforts!

Remember the conversation between Lucy and Mr. Beaver in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe–Lucy asks if Aslan, the lion is safe. Mr. Beaver responds, ‘Safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s GOOD. He’s the King, I tell you.” We human beings can struggle with the mysterious, often scary, supernatural aspects of power demonstrated by lions.

May we each journey wisely, following the best voice that will lead us through GOOD adventures!

I had a dream of a Lion at distance he was just walking around people When I saw him I had no fear we looked at each other and he lightly growled at me while I was talking to a elderly woman I told him to be quiet in a playful way.I’m not sure what this means

I had a dream about a lion last week. At first he was standing about 8 feet away, then all at once I was right in his face. Forehead to forehead and staring into one of his eyes. I woke up at once startled and wondering what could this mean? A few nights before this I had a dream about God… He never uttered a word but when he looked at me his eyes went wide but only for a couple of seconds. Then he slowly turned his head away. I knew it was him however he looked nothing like what we’ve been taught. He was really dark/ tanned, beautiful skin and white, white long hair. Does anyone know what this mean?

I had a dream two nights ago. Someone I couldn’t discern and I were running, and running behind us, what I thought was after us, was a lion, a tiger, and a bear. I was fearful at first, but they never approached us, they remained behind. The next thing I remember I was running alone this time, and only the lion was running behind me. But I wasn’t afraid because they hadn’t hurt us previously. However, this time the lion bit me. I had my arm up defensively and it bit on either side of my elbow. But he only stood there with my arm in his mouth, he did no further harm. Then I woke up. Can you tell me what this means?

I had a dream last night about a lion. It was chasing people and destructive, but it was coming my way I knew I couldn’t out run him so I played dead on my bed. I was perfectly still barely breathing and he walked over me, licked my neck and went over to my daughter and allowed her to pay him.

OK right after the 8/21/2017 eclipse I had a very vivid dream of 2 “Golden colored Lions “that were so very beautiful and acting like they were guarding me. They didn’t speak. Its like I awoke in the dream because I heard something, when I sat up and looked, both Lions leaped upwards like they were going upstairs, (but I don’t have upstairs) so it’s like they leaped up in my wall. In a flash they came back down, pausing in front of me. I was looking at both of them, they were enormous but very calm, the one male on the left stared straight ahead, while the male on the Right turned and stared at me. They were not growling nor were they aggressive. My son was sleeping next to me and I put my right hand on him and made the shhh noise. The lion on the right kept staring, J didn’t understand why he was staring at me and then turned his head straight and they both walked off calmly. I was so intrigued by this, and it felt so real, like 2 male full grown Lions were in my home that I got up and was looking for them all over my house. Lol funny I know, but true. I’ve heard they represent spirituality, can anyone help interpret the symbolism of the one staring at me, as I have wondered this for months. Thanks

Lions can represent safety and security, boldness, all that. Sounds like you have a spiritual ‘guardian’ and a ‘watcher’. For you to be aware that you and your son are never alone, always watched, guarded, valued. Sounds like a pretty sweet dream!

I was on a hard packed, gravel road, it gently swung upwards to the left. I was in an Alpine forest. To my right, a brook babbled merrily, very clear and clean. The sky was an incredible shade of blue, and far far away, off in the distance, towering, snow-capped, jagged peaks punctured the distance between there and here, where I was. The road ending in a bit of a turn around dead end, and looking up across a green grassy yard stretched one or two hundred feet gently upwards again. There were two structures; a dilapidated old red barn, and to its left a three rail fenced corral. One rail was down, and that’s when I saw the most impossibly mighty creature being desperately chased by these very slender, white robed man-like figures. I couldn’t tear my self or my eyes away, for this astonishingly and amazing dark brown, red, golden, and yellow creature I was watching evade and move with a laughing ease, utterly defying the physics entailed in something that powerful and fast. Its power was so limitless, and along w/the waves of pulsating poweremanating from him I suddenly realized it’s evasive actions had brought it to the edge of the meadow, where I stood a few feet away from. The chasing men stopped where they stood, and were exceedingly sad and downcast. I ran from the road to my right, where the babbling brook was bridged by a massive tree whose circumference was 10 ft tall. I jumped onto the log and jumped down to crouch down, head in my knees, hands covering my face and head. I had to look. To know if I’d lost him. Gently and cautiously lifting my head and standing that I could look across and see it’s actions, just in time to see it move forward and jump up to cross the water itself! I could hear the wind in the trees and the water rushing past, along with its steady paws walking slowly across to where I was once more in the fetal position, when I heard nothing, as silence had come to be. Peeking upwards I found it had stopped and was sitting on the log/bridge, and only a couple feet away! The waves pulsating off of its invincibly beautiful fur and massively muscled body were startling. They were very warm and felt as tho they went right thru me. ‘What are you?’ I thought, and that’s when it turned its face and gazed right at me, right into my eyes. I heard somebody gasp in amazement and it was me. I was looking into the very heart of all things loving and made of love. ‘They weren’t trying to catch and re-corral you out of fear, they had acted out of love, and that why they were sad when you came out the meadow and across the water!’ I thought to myself, for I understood in the deepest core of my being that I was being given this incredible vision of the Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus of Nazareth was 100% REAL, and the never ending, all conquering, and all mighty power of Love that poured over me as I stared in shock into his beautifully kind and forgiving eyes? Was a love I need not wonder about any longer, need not worry whether or not the might and magnificence of God existed. I awoke and hit my knees and gave thanks. I tried to grasp what precisely I had just seen. It was amazingly, perfectly healthy and free from all doubt; free from all fear, and it loved all of us so very very much. Happy Easter and god bless

I had a dream of a lion and other animals among me and my younger daughter in my grandmother’s home. The animals were all asleep around me but I was wary of the lion the entire time even though it walked around me and paid me and my daughter no attention but I was still afraid so I slowly and quietly grabbed my baby and locked us in the basement to try and sleep peacefully but somehow the lion found out and tried to break through the locked door to get to us and kept trying, so I went and locked us in another part of the basement that leads outside and it tried to break through that door too. Finally we got outside safely and it was just still trying to get out through the locked door. I was afraid the whole time but it never got us, and I have no idea what this dream could mean.

I had a dream that I was walking around my house outside on the back deck and I noticed a lion in my back yard, he noticed me at the same time. I was startled and instantly ran to go inside. When I got to my front door the lion jumped on me but he didn’t harm me he licked me and knocked me over and played with me like a dog would. So strange!

I had a dream where I arrived at my paternal home and saw my mum sitting outside and immediately after she welcomed me, I saw a golden lion walking towards us and I quickly tapped my mum to walk inside the room with me because I was frightened by the sight of the lion but to my surprise the lion was not acting aggressive. Instead the lion walked up to our room door and while I opened the door to spy at the lion , I saw the lion looking directly at me and I was not afraid at all and I suddenly woke up from my sleep.
